This was our first time at this restaurant. We selected it spontaneously, and it turned out to be perfect. We had front door parking (rare in VA), someone had just pulled out.
The service was great. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive to our needs (refilling glasses, bringing us more napkins and condements, etc. without us having to ask.). He had a pleasant smile and a warm personality that made you feel welcomed.
The food was delicious! I had the fried green tomatoes for my appetizer and the blackened catfish for the entree. I highly recommend both!
We plan to go back. It was a great experience, especially for a busy Saturday.
We had to take our time to see if we wanted to change the railing. Sorry, it did not help. The food was not great. The nachos we good. They will get soggy before you finish. The collard greens are spicy and did not have flavor to compensate to make them edible. The meatloaf sounded so good. But we did not even want to finish it. We took the leftovers home. We decided to toss them because it was not worth eating. We did not get to test out the bar section. We hope it was better than the food.
I had really high hopes for this place. Our service was decent, but nothing to be excited about on NYE. I ordered the Charleston Chicken and it came out looking like slop, so I exchanged that for their really good Jambalaya chicken cheesesteak.
Good selection of po boys and southern style foods. I had the chili cheese burger, which was excellent, though the fries weren't really special. I would recommend the bread basket appetizer, particularly the sweet potato biscuits with their sweet and spicy spread. The cocktails are also great and very strong.
Visited tonight and sat in the dining area. Mike did a great job with service. We had wings, Burgers, Jambalaya, Mac 'n Cheese and Chili all of which were fresh and flavorful. The dining room wasn't anything to write home about and pricing was fair. I'll def go again!
